The easiest way to jazz up your wardrobe look isn’t a restricted color trend or a silhouette.
Enter – Tassels!
Blame it on home design shows or designers like Tom Ford who have a degree in Architecture. They are making their way from furniture to accessories and clothes. Easy and hassle free, tassels add immense amount of fluff to any basic outfit with minimal effort.
Frivolous, whimsical and a bit boho, the key to this trend is moderation. Opt for shoes, belts, necklaces, handbags, or at the hem of your dress. My favorite part of this must have accessory is the way it playfully swings adding movement to your look.
2016 has been all about taking cues from the ’70s, and this is definitely my favorite rendition. Here are some easy fringed accessories –
IT IS OFFICIAL: Kenzo is H&M’s 2016 designer collaboration, hitting 250 stores around the world and online on November 3!
Takes me back to when they announced their first ground breaking collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld followed by iconic associations with Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf Anna Dello Russo, Comme des Garçons Jimmy Choo and many more.
Last year, H&M’s wildly successful association with Balmain which was sold out within minutes, saw endless queues and reports of riots outside a London outlet. The collection was everything you expected it to be – glamorous, sexy, young and of course embellished.
Something tells me H&M x Kenzo will be equally explosive, if not more. I am expecting lots of funky knitwear, bold prints, Kenzo’s vintage logo and a must have athleisure sweatshirt.
This is also the first time a LVMH brand is collaborating with H&M. This could perhaps open doors for H&M to associate with other brand under this French conglomerate in the future. I am hoping for H&M x Dior. Or H&M x Givenchy!
Here is a sneak peek at the collab.

The perfect white shirt not only leaves you feeling confident about your look but also is your companion to work and party all at once.
From the simplest T-shirt to the most intricate, lacy camisole, white tops are a fantastic option for any occasion. With this heat wave that has hit the city the shirt tops my list for go to fashion for the season and I am sure it is on your list too.
What catches my eye is how something so classic can be given a very modern and ultra-chic look, and here is my round-up of classic white shirts with a fashionable twist.
- Marques’ Almeida’s voluminous ruffled shirt with a fresh contemporary touch.
- The Graduated Shirt Dress By Cos is perfect for a sunny day out.
- McQueen’s always a favorite and this boxy silhouette is a must have.
- DKNY’s sharp and bold cuts are always welcome.
Lady Gaga and Elton John are teaming up, and not just in the recording studio. The music icons are releasing a collection at Macy’s that’s got a charity-driven, empowerment-fostering twist.
The name of the limited-edition line, Love Bravery, is meant to “inspire compassion and combat prejudice” through clothing and accessories.
The limited edition collection has shirts, outerwear, clutches, backpacks, scarves, keychains, pins, skateboards and even speakers. The collection will have vibrant yet minimal graphic prints that fuse both the artists’ musical and personal style.
Speaking about her inspiration and idea behind the line, Gaga said, “It’s an honour to team up with Sir Elton John to create this line with Macy’s. We need to make the world a kinder and braver place, where men and women everywhere are empowered to live with compassion.” Sir Elton John further added, “I love the idea of fusing who you are on the inside – your passions and dreams – with what you wear on the outside. Love Bravery is about the compassion on the inside to understand someone’s fears, and the bravery on the outside to stand up for them, and for yourself.”
Here’s a quick sneak peak of pieces that will be available as a part of the collection:
I for one cant wait to get my hands on this collection. What about you?
Don’t stress over what to wear this summer. If you’ve got the basics down – jeans, tank tops, sunglasses and a hell of confidence; all you need is these few fresh pieces to glam-up your wardrobe for a easy-breezy summer.
- Espadrilles: Flats don’t always translate to a dressed-down look. These light summer slip-ons are most compatible with denim and you have an array of styles to choose from – classic monochrome slip-ons to python, military, jute, canvas, sequins, lace, and glitter
- Summer Scarf: Tie your hair up with it, wrap it around your neck when the sun starts to set. A soft bright scarf can dress up any comfortable outfit.
- Braided hair: The hottest hairstyle trend yet. If you are new to braiding, then an additional set of hands is advisable. Always remember to create a strong parting and remember to apply to texturing product so that it stays.
- Rope sandals: This sultry fashion trend manages to be playful and rustic all together!
- The cold shoulder: This off-the-shoulder trend is no longer a trend, it has become a wardrobe essential. Flirty and flattering on everyone!
In the winter of 2014, Ralph Lauren received major backlash for the uniform he had designed for the American Olympic team.
Ralph Lauren described the looks as “classic silhouettes in a timeless palette,” but everyone found something to pick on- while some commented the uniform was very European and didn’t embody Americana, what most people were upset about is they were manufactured in China.
The same controversy erupted in 2008 when Reuters reported that Chinese tailors had a hand in Ralph Lauren’s U.S. uniforms for the Beijing Olympics. Unsurprisingly, the same discussion over American manufacturing and lack of patriotism ensued.
Nanette Lepore, a strong advocate of American-based manufacturing and New York City’s Garment Center, lashed out saying “Why shouldn’t we have pride not only in the American athletes but in the American manufacturers and laborers who are the backbone of our country?”
With the countdown to the 2016 Summer Games in Rio already on – August 5th to be precise. To mark it, the U.S. Olympic Committee and Polo Ralph Lauren, the official outfitter of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic teams, five games running, are today unveiling Team USA’s Closing Ceremony apparel. (The Opening Ceremony uniforms are unveiled closer to the Games.)
While i cant wait to see what he has in mind for the team, I hope he’s learnt his lesson! Do you think it is as big a deal as it was made out to be? Let me know if the comments below!
