Each season, Haute Couture almost always showcases fascinating looks that are painstakingly assembled where designers are constantly pushing the boundaries. This time was no different.
At Viktor & Rolf, white shirts acted as a canvas for larger-than-life Picasso paintings that towered over the heads of modelt. Calling garments walking sculptures, the collection showcased wearable art, literally!
The Armani Privé runway saw ultra-feminine waves and ruffles in sheer weightless organza. Mauve dominated the runway along with shades of violet, lavender and silver.
Chanel’s eco-inspired outdoor show was nothing less than spectacular. Along with the Karl Lagerfeld’s signature tulle and tweed, the collection included structured silhouettes with wood chips and discs.
On the other hand, Atelier Versace’s show featured colorblocking and cutout gowns with braided bodices as against more traditional couture silhouettes.
Jean Paul Gaultier recreated the 80’s discotheques and its fashion with bright colors, head-to-toe embellishments, power shoulder and oversized coats.
And at my personal favorite, Elie Saab, India was the backdrop to showcase true opulence and extravaganza. The collection saw everything from Salwar Kameers and Nehru collar to Lehengas and Sarees. Watch the show here –
Talk about erratic weather – the monsoon dampen’s everybody’s spirit ( Including a fashion enthusiast in me). I hate having to swap my choo’s for rain-proof footwear, and my Bottega for a bag that’s not as chic but weather resistant.
However, all’s not lost – I realized i could have some fun with a chic umbrella! I started my hunt and boy I wasn’t disappointed! Here’s my pick of the 5 chicest umbrellas
Burberry Prorsum – Fun & Chic
Marc Jacobs – Graphic God with great prints!
Kate Spade- Always as cute as a button!
Chanel Camellia Umbrella – Monochrome Magic!
Hemes – my favorite kind of orange!
Which one would you pick? Let me know in the comments below!
It’s that time of the year again..December sure knows how to keep up with the tag of ‘Party Season’.
So while most of us go for the usual LBD’s, a pair of Choo’s and a Judith Leiber clutch, it’s time to move away from the usual and experiment with some Sexyback.
There’s nothing more appealing than a woman who knows how to flaunt her Sexy Back (A Toned one of course).
So with the last few parties remaining, before we ring in 2015, don’t forget to flaunt it all you gorgeous women!
Here’s some inspiration to begin with:
Nicole Kidman for Chanel
Selena Gomez goes short
We’ve seen this trend passing by through various runways’s and magazines time and again!
This time around though, the Lock trend seem’s to have exploded and HOW!
We saw a rather bold look, with an emphasis on a lock chain by none other than Chanel on the runway. Looks like this trend is no longer being restricted to accessories such as the Hermes wristlet or a Louis Vuitton necklace.
Designers seem to be ready to push the envelope and incorporate the classic lock in apparels as well.
Looking forward to see what else is in store for us to look out for. This definitely looks like a promising start!
This Autumn Winter has been witness to the debut of some rather funky accessories which have clearly stood out and made an impact!
Right from the McDonalds inspired Moschino crossbody, to a milk can inspired Chanel bag. We even saw Anya Hindmarch come up with an entire collection dedicated by the brand ‘Kelloggs’
Some serious inspiration being drawn by these designers by everyday products right? Well… i’m not complaining! It’s always fun to see such new and experimental things happening. I say bring it on!
This Season it’s no longer all about the usual Tote or messenger bag!
Those of you who’ve waited for style to integrate with utility, the answer lies here!
Backpacks are the new ‘it’ bag you ought to purchase this Fall.
This multipurpose bag not only looks good, but it also walks the talk.
Pair it with a maxi dress or boyfriend jeans and a casual top. Experiment with what works on you!
Here’s some of my favourites, which one would you wear?
The new season marks the beginning of new trends, new designs, and new colours!
How do I judge what to expect from a collection every season? It’s simple, The answer lies within the Ad Campaign.
This A/W, I couldn’t help but be blown away by the sheer genius of some Ad Campaigns.
Here’s a look at some of my persona favourites this season:
