Milan Diaries: Emporio Armani’s Quirky Elegance

Its very hard to put in to words exactly how exciting fashion week is, especially in Milan. The city is buzzing with designers, models, bloggers amongst the locals.

Needless to say I was very very excited to attend the Emporio Armani show and watch Mr. Armani’s creations down the runway!

And boy, was i blown away – The maestro had stuck the delicate balance of Quirky an elegant like no one else has!

On a black background more often than on a white one, a visual explosion of digital signs and designs, including a sectioned smile, and multi-coloured ‘scratches’.

Clean lines and clear shapes. Silhouetted, rounded shoulders for high-tech heroines.
Short jumpsuits with short trousers that look like skirts, slim trousers, and mini-but-not-micro skirts

Sleek shoes with covered heels add feminine flair and lengthen the leg. Sparkle-galore lends a three-dimensional touch to evening  wear.

#FeelingFurla With Kalki Koechlin

Just recently, Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin made a guest appearance at Italian brand Furla’s presentation at Milan Fashion Week. Wearing a Little Black Dress with side swept hair, red hot lips, minimal accessories and carrying the all new ‘Fantasia bag’, she sure made a statement!

Don’t forget to check out her adorably cute hairdo earlier in the day, definitely a big thumbs up from my end. Also how tempting is that wall of gorgeous Furla Bags, I might just want them all!

On a more serious note:

Talking about the event, she said – “Furla represents the joyful contemporary Italian lifestyle and I particularly love the design ethos of combining two worlds to make a bag. The day to night bag I am carrying is the answer to any busy woman’s woes.”

Looks like Furla has a new fan in this spunky Diva.

Absolutely LOVE that bag! #FeelingFurla already!

You Go Kalki!

Milan Diaries | Jimmy Choo

Milan just seems to get better and better – after the fabulous Emporio Armani show, I made my way to the Jimmy Choo presentation! And, Boy! Was I blown away!

Inspired by the art of Ballet, Sandra Choi’s collection for Jimmy Choo Autumn Winter 15 has discipline and design.

Drawing on the powerful sense of emotion conveyed by the line of a dancer’s body, the palpable passion created by a single movement and the elegance of an arabesque, the collection explores a pas des deux relationship between ballet and bondage, the binding and tying of a dancer’s ankle with a simple ribbon that gives the confidence to release an emotionally charged performance.

Buckles harness, fine leather ribbon ties caress, minimal leather and brushed gold hardware cuff details bind evocatively and exaggerated organza bows tease the ankle and the foot. Decadent and sensuous velvet dominates lending a richness of texture contrasting with the softest nappa leather. The colour palette sees the innocence of ballet pink contrasted with moodier hues of teal, red, cinnamon, black and a degradé of ballet pink to black python.

With super gorgeous detailing and accents to make sure they turn heads, Sandra Choi made everyone dream of Choo!

Just cannot get enough of this shoe!!

This clutch has officially made it to my Lust List!!

Fashion and friends are a match made in heaven, at the presentation i had the lovely Ekta from Grazia, Nandini from Elle and Varun from Harpers Bazaar for company!

Milan Diaries | Emporio Armani

From the second I got my Emporio Armani show ticket, I couldn’t wait to see what the master Mr. Armani had envisioned for one of my favorite brands! The ikat print show ticket only peaked my interest-

Interestingly, the collection was entitled “Crossing Colors”  – There were two big takeaways from the Emporio Armani show this morning: ruffles and the color red.

Here’s a quick look at some my favorite looks from the show –

The ruffles were belts and cross-body bag straps and necklaces and a dozen other details

And I most definitely can’t get enough of the Floral appliques on the grey wool skirts

With a dozen other details to their Credit, Mr. Armani put his magical touch to the Fall Winter 15/16 collection once again ; here’s a quick overview of what to see in store – Washed out Ikat, Dramatic Velvet and detailing to-die-for!

Cant wait to get my hands on the Cullottes, fabulous crossbody’s and uber fashionable dresses!

Milan Diaries | Just Cavalli

….Straight out of the Just Cavalli show, it’s safe to say I’m blown away!

Shades of Ochre and Rust dominated the runway, an unusual yet impressive combination brilliantly offset by a flaming red runway and a digital screen back drop!

With the fascinating fringing and playful fur accents Just Cavalli’s FW15 collection retraces its steps to it’s original, more sophisticated and refined collections.

Few Glimpses from the show –

Milan Diaries | Gucci

We’re back to my favorite city, Milan! It’s Milan Fashion Week and the streets have never looked more stylish – Fashionista’s from across the globe put their best foot forward in the fashion capital of the world!

The Streets, Bars, Restaurants – all of them breathed out fashion… Exactly how i love it!

Yesterday’s big show – GUCCI, was definitely a fashion moment, and it was most definitely Alessandro Michele’s moment. o-Alessandro_Michele_portrait__1739_low_Courtesy-of-Ronan-Gallagher-for-Gu..

Fashion loves a debut; consider all the unanswered questions: Would Michele take Gucci in the more daring direction? Or would it be more formal like his predecessor Frida Giannini?

The Collection comprised of colorful coats with fur cuffs and military leanings; fluttery, shapeless botanic print dresses; and unlined, skin-baring point d’esprit separates. Many of the pieces were pressed with creases at odd places—several inches above the hem of trousers, down the side of a jacket, or all over in the case of a blue plissé dress.

Here are some of my favorite looks from the show!

Milan Fashion Week: Giorgio Armani SS’15

The Giorgio Armani show was undoubtedly my favourite at Milan fashion week this year!

The grand opening kicked off with a visual of sand, sea & mountains which took you to a mediterranean land .The serene collection made me wonder if the man himself was inspired while on vacation in the sand and safari .

As the show progressed, It flowed beautifully into the formal dresses which were worn with sheer pants below. The collection offered a new way of experiencing monochromatic fabrics such as wool, double washed silk, technical cady silk & lined georgette that seemed to be rebuilt in order to create that sartorial magic.

And finally, the show concluded with an ethereal finale look that was nothing short of perfect for a bride getting married on an exotic island.

I Simply LOVED what Giorgio Armani had to offer this season! Can’t wait till it hits the stores!
